WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN

White Oak Studio prepared the master plan for parks and open space for the City of West University Place and the West University Place Parks Board. The plan was created using an extensive process of workshops with the Park Board and public presentations to the city council. The plan evaluated and made recommendations on open space issues beyond the actual city park properties:

• Pedestrian access around the small city
• Open space use of public rights-of-way and school property
• Public image of the city
• Acquisition of additional park properties and expansion of the park system

The West University Place Open Space Master Plan was the winner of a 2001 American Society of Landscape Architects – Texas Chapter award. Jim Patterson completed the project after joining Knudson & Associates.

Mr. Patterson completed this project in 2000 while principal at Knudson & Associates.
