White Oak Studio is committed to the practice of landscape architecture.

In order to enjoy our practice of landscape architecture and to provide a more personal and professional service to our clients we intend to remain fairly limited in size. Each project receives the attention of the principal – there’s no ‘bait and switch’ where the principal is not seen again after the project is awarded.

We sometimes draw upon the resources of local professionals or Cad production folks to increase our production capability for larger projects. This work is carefully coordinated and quality controlled by White Oak Studio, just as if prepared by WOS staff.

Jim Patterson, ASLA

Jim Patterson is Principal and owner of White Oak Studio. A registered landscape architect in the State of Texas, he has worked in private and public practice since 1979.

Jim is responsible for the quality and creativity of all work by White Oak Studio. His work has ranged from residential gardens to large-scale public open space projects. He brings a personal commitment, integrity and enthusiasm to each project taken on by the firm. Jim knows from experience the importance of clear communication with clients and team members.

In addition to his extensive private-sector experience, Jim worked for a public agency for 5 years, providing him an understanding of the process and needs of public agencies. His private sector experience began with large multi-disciplinary firms but he has developed an affinity for the small, design-oriented professional environment.

Jim balances his professional interests, spending time with his wife and 2 daughters and a house full of dogs and cats.
